As an endodontic patient, what should I expect?
A comprehensive examination to diagnose any orofacial pain or pulpal injury. Once a diagnosis is made, all of the treatment options will be discussed along with the pros and cons of each treatment. Once a treatment option has been decided upon, treatment will either commence at that appointment or will be scheduled on a different date.
Most endodontic treatment will be either one of three main types: non-surgical root canal therapy (your common “root canal”), non-surgical root canal re-treatment or endodontic microsurgery (commonly called an apicoectomy).
